On occasion of the occupational holiday, I send my sincere greetings to those who dedicated themselves to the work in the field of education.
Celebration of the Teachers Day occupies a special place among the realm of national holidays. The present-day development confirms that the economic and civilization progress of the society depends to great extent upon the level of education. It is a Teacher who influences the formation of a personality and the future of the nation by a daily self-sacrificing work. It is the state of education that represents the socio-cultural image of the nation, demonstrating the intellectual power of the State and its creative capacity.
Modern scholars assert that only the nations with the most efficient education system, capable of providing for the highest development of the intellectual potential will become the global leaders in the new millennium.
Despite all the hardships, the modern image of Ukrainian education system is being formed through experiments, search and tests, which complies with the global challenges and adheres to the traditional key principle to cultivate reason, kindness and eternal values.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is guided by the priority of education issues. It will always support the educators, enhancing their social importance, providing for the adequate social security of the pedagogical workers, improving the legislation in accordance with the European standards and present-day demands.
On the occasion of this remarkable holiday, I wish you all the best and every success in this noble and highly important pursuit.
